70-300mm Tele/Marco, Sigma or Tamron?
I have done lots of researches on Sigma 70-300mm and Tamron 70-300mm Tele/Marco lens. but still need to hear somebody's voice about these two lens.
i'm planning to buy one of these two lenses. but can't decide where my heart belongs to. help me, and thx a lot!

again, only Di and APO, coz i want one with good color correctioin. thx a lot! yea, and it's for my Canon Rebel Xti, and my budge is set under $220.
i'm going to buy a 50mm 1.8 anyway, but i want a tele lens that can also do a marco caturing job.
Preface - I;m a Nikon guy...but I'm not biased against Canon. They make great stuff too.
Both of these have consistently been rated pretty low in my experience.
I'd stick with a Canon branded one, if you can.
I also want to state that I have 2 Tamron lenses and I like them as a third party lens maker...but not every lens they make is golden.
No lens maker, even Nikon and Canon make a 100% perfect lens every time either.
The Tamron lenses I do have are 17-50mm f/2.8 Di and the 28-200mm f/3.8-5.6. The 17-50mm is above average in contrast and sharpness, just as good if not better than the Nikon equivalent in my opinion. The 28-200mm is a full frame lens and I use it on my film Nikon as well as my Nikon digital. It is slightly above average and I can cultivate some awesome images from it...but it does require more post processing than the 17-50mm.
I also have the Nikon 50mm f/1.8, 35-70mm f/3.3-4.8, 55-200mm f/4-5.6 VR. All those are great lenses and don't break the bank.
I guess to sum up...if you can wait a little longer and save up more money and just buy the Canon equivalent lens, you'd most likely be happier.
