I have a Tamron 2 28mm lens can any one give me some info. on it?
It lookes to be old it has tamron 1:2.5 28mm adaptall 2 on it it is Manual Focus also There is BBAR MC symbol for degree 49,02B No.338178 that is all the info I can see on the lens
Tamron lenses have always been high quality. Adaptall was a system they introduced 40 odd years ago when it was realised that with different SLR mounts, changing marques could be expensive. The Adaptall mount could be interchanged so if, for example, you had a Nikon system and wanted to change to Canon, you didn't have to get rid of all your Tamron lenses, but just brought new Canon Adaptall mounts and changed those for the Nikon ones. Whether, in fact, many people actually took advantage of this, I don't know. Tamron dropped the idea years ago, and started making their lenses with fixed mounts for the major marques. You don't say whether the lens you have has a mount or not. if it doesn't the only place you are likely to find one now is on e-bay. BBAR was Tamron's multi-coating (MC) coating. The 49 with the '0' with a line through is merely to tell you the size of filter the lens takes. The serial number will tell about when it was manufactured, but I can't help with that!
I don't agree with the first answer saying it is a macro lens.
