What's a good fish eye lens and wide angle lens is good but inexpensive to buy for a Nikon D5000?
Help!
There are NO inexpensive, good fisheye lenses. There design make them expensive.
The fisheye made for all the Nikon cameras with APS-C sensored cameras (your D5000 is one) is the Nikkor 10.5 mm lens ($775). The Nikon fisheye lens made for the full frame DSLR's and 35 mm SLR's is the Nikkor 16 mm ($1,000).
As you can see, fisheye lenses are by nature expensive and unless you have a compelling reason to buy one, renting is a more prudent way to go.
There is a rule of thumb used by some pros. If a piece of equipment cannot pay for itself within 6 months, rent it and bill the client.
What are being called "add-on fisheyes" are not. They do distort images like a fisheye does, but what they do not do is cover a 180 field of view. You can find them on Amazon for under $40 all day long, but do you want fisheye distortion or an actual 180 degree fisheye view?
