What are some necessary accessories for a DSLR?
I'm getting my first DSLR, a Canon XSI bundled with a 18-55 IS lens.
I am only interested in shooting things found in nature and macro.
What are the necessary accessories that I should have?

Well:
General: A UV filter is recommended for protecting your lens, but isn't necessary. Your lens calls for a 58mm filter. Also a circular polarizer filter is often useful for making colors richer.
Wildlife: A telephoto lens. Ideally get one with a focal length >200mm.
Macro: A macro lens. I'm not too good on Canon's offerings, but other posters should be able to give you a good answer:
Also a tripod will be of use.
Landscapes:
*A wide angle lens, ideally with a focal length <20mm.
*A tripod, since the high apertures needed for landscapes will lead to low shutter speeds in a lot of circumstances. Get one of these and it will help a lot.
*A graduated neutral density filter(often abbreviated graduated ND or grad ND). This is a filter where one side is darker than the other. Use this when the sky is much darker than the sky. Line up the transition between the clear and the dark parts of the filter with the horizon to properly expose both the sky and the ground. This is really really useful. See:
