My Kodak EasyShare M1093 IS lens won't go back in..?
I've only had my camera since April. Two days ago I went to the beach and when I got back I turned my camera on, and it wouldn't turn on. I don't think I got sand in it though.....well, not enough to screw it all up. I saw some in the lense, but I got all that I could see out. By turning it on and off and on and off I was able to get the lens to come fully out. But now, whenever I turn it on, it makes this weird sound and stays on only for exactly one second. The lens doesn't even move. It's fully charged too. I don't know what's wrong with it and is there anyway I can get it to work?
Short answer: No, you can't fix it yourself. The same thing happened to me, with sand as well. Once the sand gets into the gears of the lens, a few things could have happened - there could be sand still in there, or the sand grains could have damaged the gears when it was trying to open.
You will need to send the camera to a camera repair place... I hope it is still under warranty. Most Kodaks have a limited warranty of at least 90 days.
