Can I take infrared shots with the Fuji s8000fd?
Can I add any lens filter at all with the s8000fd? I have my choice down pretty much to this and the Canon S5, but [at least so far] I like the feel of the Fuj. II forgot to check to see if I could put a lens filter on it at all. So, can I?

The S8000fd will not accept filters, so you can't use an IR filter on it, at least not a normal IR filter.
It's not clear if the new S8100fd will accept filters either.
Try here: http://www.maxmax.com to see what other IR camera options you may have. I'm getting a used Nikon D50 and then I'll have it converted to IR-only shooting.
