Is this a good fish eye lens for a Nikon D40?

I don't know anything about lenses for cameras, but I know I want a fish eye/wide angle lens.
Will this lens work?
Is there something that would work better?
That lens blows.
It´s an insanely cheap item that screws on to the front of your current zoom lens. At least, that's the idea. If you're using the 18-55mm Nikon Lens (with a 52mm lens thread), this no-name p.o.s. (with a 58mm lens thread) won't even fit. You'll have to a buy step-up ring separately and hope for the best.
Any of these Nikon or even Sigma lenses would be vastly better: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?ci=0&shs=nikon+fish+eye&sb=ps&pn=1&sq=desc&InitialSearch=yes&O=jsp%2Fproductlist.jsp&A=search&Q=*&bhs=t&Go.x=0&Go.y=0&Go=submit
Of course, these all cost over $500.
I know all about ´lens lust´ vs. budget constraints, so I won´t tell you NOT to get the eBay lens... just be prepared for frustrating results.
