*****What Lens Filter should i buy for my Nikon D60 with the 18-55 mm lens*****?
There is no magic fix all filter to get, but thanks to the digital revolution most filters can be added in on a computer. The 18-55mm has a 52mm diameter thread on the front, so thats the size you will be looking for.
First get yourself a UV or Skylight (1B) filter which is acts as a protector just in case. Most pro's don't use protectors, but it's probably a good idea for you. You're lens isn't anything expensive, or fancy so don't worry too much about quality, any reputable dealer should sell you something suitable.
The next filter that you should get is the Circular Polariser, or CPL this is one of the most versatile filters. It corrects/removes reflections off most reflective surfaces, and it saturates colours, this does however come at a cost of letting through less light. CPLs do come in different types, but for now don't worry about that, just a CPL will work.
You shouldn't worry too much about other filters for now. Your CPL can cover for neutral density (ND) for a while, though they aren't rated for an exact figure. When you're a little more advanced you will probably want to invest in ND and graduated neutral density (ND-grad) slot ins.
