Depth of field with Pentax k100d super?
I just got my Pentax k100 super and want to figure out an easy way to get those awesome pics where one part of the pic is in focus but the rest isnt. I know it has to do with aperture and depth of field.
I am new (obviously) to DSLR s and have been working with it, but would like someone to put it in layman's terms.
Also I have other questions about what the best accessories for this camera are. I have purchased ND filer, Polarizer filter and one other, but and I am looking at a macro lens and telephoto lens, wide angle/fish eye lens. Im so lost about it all!
Any help would be appreciated !
You should get a book on photography and learn what your camera can do. You need to understand what depth of field is and what the interplay between apature and shutter speed is. That way you will understand why the first poster said that the ND filter and Polaraizer will help you. If you do not understand why you have to change shutter speed to accomodate the difference in apature, and why a ND filter will help with that (For landscapes, maybe even a graduated ND filter would be nice) then your nice camera and expensive lenses are useless.
Look for a book by Grimm and Grimm, called understanding photography. My copy was made during film cameras, but the concepts are the same (substitute film iso for iso settings on your camera.)
