can someone guide me of if its wise to invest on canon EFS lenses?
I am planning to buy a couple of EFS lenses, a macro and a zoom. But I know that EFS are not compatible to full frame camera models, I am afraid that when I upgrade to Mark XX systems, I will never be able to use these lenses, mind you they are expensive. Is there an adapter/extender in the market that allows EFS to be mounted to, say, a 7D?
The EOS 7D is not a full frame camera, so all EF-S lenses are fully compatible. If you are not planning to upgrade to a full frame dSLR in the next few years, then I don't see why you shouldn't buy an EF-S lens.
Some EF-S lenses are not all that good. The same goes for EF lenses, so make sure you choose very wisely. With most lenses (especially telephoto) you get what you pay for.
However, investing in a good EF lens (L included) will see you through the 1.6x crop factor and full frame cameras, making them a very good long term investment.
