Fish-eye or wide angle lens for Nikon D3000?
I'm planning on getting my sister a new camera lens for Christmas. She has Nikon D3000, and I know that she's been incredibly interested in distortion photography. I'm not sure what the differences between fish-eye and wide angle lenses are, though. What do you recommend?
If you sister is really into distortion, then take a look at the Lensbaby. Their lenses have interchangeable optics that are designed for distortion, and they have recently introduced a fish-eye optic. They aren't too expensive compared to a Nikkor fisheye lens. They aren't the same quality, either. But, since distortion is the object, that should be fine. Then, your sister can buy new optics over time (or you can help her out with a new optic on her birthday.
